It is the intention of this project to ensure participants receive insights not only, into what it’s like to be a student at LYIT but also how the process they are working through is relevant in the ‘real world’. We have been very fortunate to work with our own fantastic students and staff at Letterkenny Institute of Technology and other leading companies in the area. Wall2Wall Music
Wall2Wall Music is interested in creative music making in schools, communities, across generations and divides and in collaboration with other art forms. Taking melodies, rhythms, stories, thoughts, ideas, challenges as a starting point, and through practical participation shape them with others into new pieces.Not only does this bring new music into the world it helps people to express their own creativity, to safely explore challenges and issues, to find new talents, to learn about music, to have fun and a sense of achievement.
Failte Ireland/Wild Atlantic Way
Failte Ireland champion positive and practical strategies that will benefit Irish tourism and the Irish economy. Launched in Spring 2014, the Wild Atlantic Way is the longest defined coastal touring route in the world stretching 2,500km from Inishowen in Donegal to Kinsale in West Cork. It was developed by Failte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority, to achieve greater visibility for the west coast of Ireland, in particular with overseas tourist markets.
There are currently 188 Discovery Points along the route and 15 Signature Discovery Points, 3 of which are in Donegal - including Malin Head. We are delighted to have Failte Ireland's support in the development and delivery of this year's brief.
Malin Head Community Centre
Malin Head Community Association LTD is a charitable organisation that was established in 1999 to promote and drive community development programmes in Malin Head. It focuses on social, economic and cultural projects as a catalyst for regeneration in Malin Head and surrounding areas. It is based in Malin Head Community Centre a building originally erected in 1912 by the local people of Malin Head. A resource centre with programmes aimed at encouraging and promoting enterprise, creativity and innovation and supporting the work of existing community groups, businesses and initiatives.
CoLab - Incubation Centre
Since 2000 CoLab has played a pivotal role in changing the attitude towards innovation, risk-taking, and entrepreneurship in the North-West Region.
They have helped over 200 entrepreneurs to successfully start their own businesses, and are currently home to another 40 High Potential Start-ups. They have helped create an entrepreneurial ecosystem of companies that are working together to create the future of the North-West.
